Marvel Cosmic Invasion, the salvation of the cosmos... in 2D!

Avengers… united!
Lining up behind Steve Rogers, alias Captain America, has now become commonplace among enthusiasts who grew up on bread and comics, but also among those who discovered the colorful superhero universe only thanks to the films of the last twenty years: a mantra, as well as the decisive impetus of the one who has always led the famous Marvel Avengers toward incredible and, often, decidedly impossible battles. But nothing is impossible for superheroes, even those who have undergone a major modern reinterpretation and who knows, perhaps it is precisely thanks to this principle of limitless possibilities that Tribute Game (a name, a program, a destiny) has decided to put on the table their next side-scrolling beat ’em up, Marvel Comic Invasion.
Rigorously, splendidly, superheroically in 2D!
But before we dive into the epic challenge that the title will present, here is the service information that I invite you to imagine being delivered in the formal tone of Jarvis, Tony “Iron Man” Stark’s AI: the game will be available from December 1, 2025 and, as the title suggests, it will place us at the center of a universal plot that goes well beyond Earth’s boundaries: drawing from one of the Avengers’ most successful sagas, Marvel Cosmic Invasion will feature none other than Annihilus among the villains, whose rather dubious name should give you an idea of just how powerful he is.
Senza dwelling too much on the plan for total destruction, a cliché in every superhero comic, I would like to spend a couple of words on its origins: the choice of Annihilus, certainly famous among insiders but probably unknown among those who have flooded theaters in recent years, was actually very well considered. Created in comics almost sixty years ago, he initially plays the role of formidable adversary of the Fantastic Four: we are talking about a guy who dominates the infamous Negative Zone and whose danger is comparable to that of Galactus, Thanos and the evil company, so to speak.
An once again the invasion of Earth is in its sights, but players will have no less than 15 playable characters to choose from, from the space guardian Nova to the more familiar Captain America, Wolverine and the ever-present neighborhood hero Spider-Man: each of them with their own set of moves and abilities, all represented in pixel art, a graphical style that has recently been driving many old-school arcade and coin-op returns to the screen (Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, for example).
Con il loro previous work, the beautiful TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, the guys at Tribute Game have set a new standard for side-scrolling beat’em ups of the new millennium, and Marvel Cosmic Invasion has, not too subtly, the goal of raising the bar even further. The main adventure can be tackled in single player, but I think it’s unnecessary to point out how much the game was designed to be experienced in multiplayer: side by side with up to four heroes simultaneously on screen, the frantic fun that will draw you in together with your friends can only grow exponentially at every level!

The gameplay demo videos leave little doubt about the care and quality of the game scenarios glimpsed: the combo system comes across as fresh and at the same time intricate, giving each hero their inimitable characterization, which is what makes the beating heart of every fan race.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion, as they say in these cases, arrives at the starting blocks with everything in place to give hours and hours of gameplay to anyone who can’t wait to spend their time in a fun and satisfying way, while waiting for the next highly anticipated film in the Marvel Universe: under the title Tribute, in the meantime, we will train to save the cosmos from December 1st, when we will once again join the cry of…
Players… united!
