Grading Service Terms and Conditions

By using TGM Grading services, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • You are the rightful owner of the items submitted for grading
  • All items are authentic and not counterfeit or modified
  • You accept the grading assessment as a professional opinion
  • You understand that grading is subjective and grades may vary between graders

These conditions apply to all grading services provided by TGM Grading and form a binding agreement upon submission of items.

1. Contract Object

TGM Grading provides professional authentication and grading services for collectible items including trading cards, sealed products, and related collectibles. The service includes visual inspection, condition assessment, authentication verification, and protective encapsulation of graded items.

2. Shipping of Items

Customers are responsible for properly packaging and shipping items to TGM Grading. All shipments must be insured and trackable. TGM Grading is not responsible for items lost or damaged during transit to our facility. We recommend using our official packaging guidelines to ensure safe delivery.

3. Custody and Care

Upon receipt, items are stored in our climate-controlled, secure facility with 24/7 surveillance and access control.

TGM Grading exercises reasonable care in handling all items. However, we are not liable for pre-existing conditions, inherent defects, or damage that may occur during standard handling procedures.

Items remain in our custody until grading is complete and return shipping is arranged. Unclaimed items after 90 days may be subject to storage fees.

4. Grading Methodology

Our grading process evaluates items based on multiple parameters including:

  • Surface condition (scratches, scuffs, printing defects)
  • Corner and edge integrity
  • Centering accuracy
  • Overall presentation and eye appeal
  • Authenticity verification

Grades are assigned on a 1-10 scale with half-point increments. Each grade reflects the overall condition of the item at the time of assessment.

Grading opinions are professional judgments and may differ from other grading services. TGM Grading grades are final and represent our expert assessment.

5. X-Ray Inspection Service

TGM Grading offers optional X-ray inspection for sealed products to verify contents integrity without opening the package.

This service is available for an additional fee and is performed using non-invasive imaging technology.

6. Professional Cleaning Service

TGM Grading offers professional cleaning services to remove surface contaminants that may affect the grade of your item.

Cleaning is performed using industry-approved methods and materials that are safe for collectibles.

While cleaning can improve appearance, it cannot repair damage or restore items to mint condition. Results vary based on the type and severity of contamination.

7. Sticker Removal Service

We offer professional sticker and residue removal for items that have price tags, labels, or other adhesive materials.

Sticker removal is performed carefully to minimize any potential damage, but some residue or surface effects may remain.

This service is not recommended for items with fragile surfaces or where sticker removal may cause visible damage.

8. Signature Authentication Service

TGM Grading provides authentication services for signed collectibles when accompanied by appropriate documentation.

Signature authentication requires proof of authenticity such as certificates, photos of signing events, or other verifiable documentation.

Items with authenticated signatures receive special notation on the grade label. Signatures that cannot be verified will be noted as 'Unverified Signature'.

9. Certificate Issuance

Each graded item receives a unique certificate with a verification QR code linked to our online database. The certificate includes grade details, item description, and high-resolution images for reference. Digital certificates are also available through your account dashboard.

10. Encapsulation and Sealing

Graded items are sealed in tamper-evident, protective cases designed to preserve the item and display the grade.

Cases are made from archival-quality, UV-resistant materials to protect against environmental damage.

Any attempt to open or tamper with the case voids the grade. Re-grading services are available if re-encapsulation is needed.

11. Limitation of Liability

TGM Grading's liability is limited in the following circumstances:

  • Pre-existing damage or defects not visible during initial inspection
  • Damage caused by improper packaging by the customer
  • Loss or damage during shipping (covered by shipping insurance)
  • Disagreement with assigned grades
  • Market value fluctuations after grading

Maximum liability for any item is limited to the declared value at time of submission or the cost of the grading service, whichever is lower.

TGM Grading maintains professional liability insurance but is not liable for consequential or speculative damages.

Claims must be submitted within 14 days of receiving graded items. Late claims may not be considered.

12. Consumer Rights

In accordance with EU consumer protection regulations, consumers have the right to cancel service orders within 14 days of placement, provided items have not yet been processed.

Once grading has commenced, cancellation is no longer possible and full fees apply.

For complaints or disputes, customers may contact our support team or utilize the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

13. General Provisions

13.1 These terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of services after notification constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

13.2 If any provision is found unenforceable, remaining provisions continue in full effect.

13.3 TGM Grading may assign or transfer these terms to any successor or affiliate.

13.4 Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute waiver of that right.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. For EU consumers, mandatory consumer protection laws of their country of residence also apply.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of the user's place of residence or TGM Grading's registered office in Italy.

Alternative dispute resolution is available through the EU ODR platform for eligible consumers.

15. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting items for grading, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions in their entirety. You also confirm that you are the rightful owner of all submitted items and have the authority to request grading services.
