Princess Peach Showtime

The evolution of a character has always represented a turning point for the saga to which it belongs, whether it is part of a film universe, an animated series, or any other medium in which storytelling plays a crucial role.
When Peach made her first appearance in Super Mario Bros, probably the most famous video game of all time, her role was nothing more than that of a supporting character, the beautiful one to be rescued and for whom you had to cross eight worlds packed with Goombas to stomp on: over time, as times changed and the need to characterize the franchise’s iconic characters in the best possible way grew, Nintendo decided to delve deeper into the character and give her better characterization, showing us a princess less in distress and more decisive for the main plot.
In Super Mario Bros 3, for example, Peach Toadstool simply writes letters to our mustached hero with helpful advice and tips related to the upcoming levels to tackle.
La copernican revolution of the character, however, comes with Super Princess Peach: the title, developed for DS, sees the blonde princess finally as the sole protagonist, but here’s a fun fact for the younger ones: even in Super Mario Bros 2, the debated sequel to the NES masterpiece, Peach was selectable as a playable character to take through the entire adventure.
So, Nintendo has apparently been ready for years to give Peach what she deserves and on March 22, 2024, it seems, Princess Peach: Showtime will give fans of the pink heroine the definitive game they have been waiting for.
Exclusive for Switch, and it could not have been otherwise, this title has been long awaited and sees the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom change setting entirely: no more sections with bricks to break and forests lit by a stern and mischievous sun, but rather the spotlight of a theater!
Proprio so: the novelty related to the game setting brings with it many gameplay possibilities even though it is a stage, therefore limited in spatial terms and which will allow moving from one level to another with a real change of scenery, exactly as happens between one act and the next during a real theatrical piece.
Nintendo has always spoiled us, we know, training its audience to expect the unexpected, while maintaining a solid creative line respectful of its videogame traditions.
Dai trailer diffusi e che stanno spopolando on line, Peach shows herself in multiple guises thanks to the transformations, the real focus of the game, which will allow us to step into the shoes of a mysterious thief, or an ice ballerina, or even a mermaid with a melodious voice capable of attracting the ringing gold coins with the help of her singing art!
Transformations that will not only serve to satisfy the palate of cosplay fanatics, of course: our princess’s abilities will change depending on the dress she is wearing, thus allowing us to tackle the various levels while displaying different powers, thanks to which we will be able, if we are skilled enough, to progress through the game.

The theater itself, as I mentioned a moment ago, becomes the epicenter of various game worlds; never before in Princess Peach: Showtime! does one realize how the limits on imagination have been torn down in favor of a beautifully inspired level design.
The bright colors seem to want to pay tribute to Peach’s radiant figure, much more pink than Barbie and who, I must admit, seemed more in shape than ever to me!
Ready to transform yourself with Peach?
The curtain rises, it will soon be our turn.
