Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

by Simon LaroccaFebruary 21, 2024

Passi uncertain in the darkness.
A green-clad figure wanders through gloomy territory, looking around with wary terror: Luigi thought it was over, but he will have to take up his formidable Poltergust 5000 once again and clear out the rampaging ghosts!
We are talking about none other than Luigi's Mansion 2, the iconic title released way back in March 2013 for Nintendo 3DS and which will see the light of day again (or darkness, given the setting!) on June 27, 2024. Or at least that’s what Nintendo announced, heralding the HD remaster in grand style with all the new features surrounding it.
Come I imagine you understand from the number included in the title, this is not the first time that the taller brother of Nintendo’s mustachioed mascot has come into the spotlight claiming a game all to himself: it happened in 2001 on the console that we could define as a predecessor of the Switch, that Game Cube that made an entire generation dream thanks to an attractive and modern graphical capability, along with an exceptional game library: suffice it to say that many of the remakes released in recent years concern video games originally born right for the Cube of Wonders!
Luigi's Mansion, in fact, had all the right ingredients to become a killer application: cartoonish and polished graphics, enemies in full Super Mario style, yet geared toward the horror spirit of the series, with the various Boos and zombie-like creatures clearly nodding to the final levels of each world in the reference platformer (the famous "castles").
Infine, the possibility of playing the entire game as Luigi, a character much loved by fans and who had often been forced to stay behind the scenes supporting the protagonist of clearly Italian origins: no "Mamma Mia!" then, at the sight of ghosts and monsters of every kind inside the haunted house, replaced by equally funny catchphrases. I am referring to the possibility of calling Mario by pressing the dedicated button on the console controller, just one of the many gems of this formidable title.
Luigi's Mansion 2 began exactly where the first title ended, with a request for help from the Professor, Luigi's friend and the inventor of the weapon with which our hero can take care of enemies: a technologically modified mega-vacuum cleaner designed to literally suck up ghosts as its main function, but also equipped with other technical features that will be very useful to you at every stage of the game.
Con the arrival of the HD version, Nintendo decided to keep the possibility of playing in multiplayer, naturally enhancing the option not only in local wireless, but also allowing up to four players to meet online and proceed with cleansing the game's villas, or try their hand at climbing the fearsome Tower of Chaos, all together passionately.
Fun fact: the Italian ad was dubbed by the masterful Roberto il Baffo, the king of TV shopping who, with his iconic way of catching his breath between one sentence and the next, will explain to you the great advantages of the Poltergust 5000!
Non remains for us but to wait for the release: as they say in these cases, whoever lives will see, whoever won’t live… will be sucked up by Luigi’s Poltergust!
